Hi! I’m Emmanuel “Manny” Guadalupe — co-owner of Isla Coffee Company, proud veteran with 22 years of service as an Army Soldier, and lifelong coffee enthusiast.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico until I left for the Army, Coffee has always been more than a drink for me. It’s a connection to home, a ritual, a comfort — and a reminder of early mornings hearing my abuela and mami brewing fresh coffee in the kitchen with a cloth filter and stovetop pot. That smell, that feeling — it stays with you.
After years of serving in the military, I’ve had the chance to try coffees from everywhere — but none ever hit quite like the coffee from back home in Puerto Rico. And that’s exactly why we started Isla Coffee Company.
Why Puerto Rican Coffee?
Because it’s bold, rich, and far too underrepresented.
Unless you live near a strong Puerto Rican community, it’s nearly impossible to find authentic Puerto Rican coffee on store shelves. That didn’t sit right with me. Puerto Rican coffee is world-class — and it deserves to be known, shared, and celebrated.
We source our beans directly from the lush mountains of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico. Every batch is single-origin, handpicked, roasted fresh, and sealed to preserve the full island flavor until you open the bag.
Our Mission: From Our Island to Your Cup
At Isla Coffee, we do things differently:
- 100% Puerto Rican beans
- Veteran-owned and operated
- Ethically sourced
- Single-Origin
- Farm → Roast → Bag → You — no shortcuts, ever.
This isn’t just coffee — it’s culture. It’s craft. And it’s our way of giving you a taste of the island, wherever you are.
A Little About Me
I rotate between a greka pot, French press, and espresso machine depending on how hectic life gets. (Let’s be honest — some mornings demand more caffeine than others!) But no matter the method, it’s always Isla Coffee in my cup.
To every visitor, customer, or coffee lover reading this — thank you. Thank you for supporting a small, veteran-owned business with big dreams. If you haven’t tried Isla Coffee Company yet, I hope you give us a shot. I promise — you won’t be disappointed.
Here’s to strong coffee, deep roots, and new beginnings.
– Manny
