. Measure Your Coffee & Water
- Start with a 1:15 ratio of coffee to water.
- Example: 30g of coffee (~2 rounded tablespoons) for 450ml (15 oz) of water.
- Use coarse ground Isla Coffee — about the size of sea salt.
2. Heat Your Water
- Bring water to a boil, then let it cool for about 30 seconds.
- Ideal temperature: 195°F to 205°F (90°C to 96°C)
3. Add Coffee Grounds to French Press
- Pour the measured grounds into the bottom of your French Press.
4. Pour in Water
- Slowly pour hot water over the grounds, fully saturating them.
- Fill to your desired level, then stir gently with a wooden or plastic spoon.
5. Let It Steep
- Place the lid on top (plunger up) and let it steep for 4 minutes.
- For stronger coffee, let it steep up to 5 minutes — but no longer, or it may turn bitter.
6. Plunge and Serve
- After steeping, press the plunger down slowly and evenly.
- Pour immediately and enjoy while hot.
